What is Painting Change?
Painting Change is based in Albany, WA. The project challenges the stereotype that men don’t tell anyone when they are struggling.
Painting Change had its beginning in early 2019, following the suspected suicides of two young men in the City of Albany, Western Australia.
Painting Change is a community led response.
Painting Change has been working with groups of men and connecting with them to complete Change Cards and discuss positive mental health and how to access support if needed.
These small sessions are an invitation to men and boys to open up the conversation and think about how they can create real change
Painting Change and COVID-19
Painting Change is about connecting and about exploring positive mental health. The project has looked to find innovative ways of connecting with men and boys as the COVID-19 situation has evolved and is still working with men – just differently.
